Description
We’ve been making outstanding socks for outdoor people right here in New Zealand since 1963 - and it all started with the Farm Fleck. The comfort and rugged performance of this sock has seen it in continuous production ever since, setting the benchmark for iconic quality that remains at the heart of Norsewear. Sir Edmund Hillary used an over the calf version in Antarctica in the late 60’s, trampers and hunters used a short version in the 80’s and the classic length Farm Fleck continues to
be a favourite today. To celebrate over 60 years of the Farm Fleck, we’ve re-issued the ‘Farm Fleck Short’ so you too can be part of the Farm Fleck legacy.

Can you machine wash Norsewear Merino socks?
Yes, Norsewear Merino socks are machine washable. We recommend a warm or cold gentle cycle and tumble drying on low, or line drying. Avoid bleach and dry cleaning. Merino wool is naturally resilient to odour and can be worn multiple times before washing.

What is the difference between the Norsewear Expedition Cold Weather and Expedition Temperate socks?
The Expedition Cold Weather sock is heavier-weight, designed for colder temperatures and providing maximum warmth and cushioning. The Expedition Temperate is lighter — suited to milder conditions and lower-altitude activities. Both are developed from the NZ Defence Force design brief. If you're tramping in winter or above the snowline, choose Cold Weather. For three-season use or summer hunting, Temperate is the better fit.
